Differentiation in the Classroom

  For the 3 day lesson plan technology was used as follows: Google Forms, Youtube, Google Slides, EdPuzzle, Quill.org, Kahoot!, Clever Touch, and computers.  Google Forms activates prior knowledge, ensuring all students are on the same page before the lesson begins. YouTube and EdPuzzle provide visual introductions to the grammar concepts, catering to different learning styles. Google Slides and Quill.org offer interactive platforms for teaching and practicing grammar rules, allowing students to engage at their own pace. Kahoot! adds an element of gamification to the lesson, making learning about sentence structures fun and interactive. Students take on a more active role in their learning by creating a video lesson using technology such as computers and the Clever Touch interactive displays.        In designing the lessons, I carefully considered instructional strategies to ensure engagement and differentiation for diverse students. Understanding that students have varying levels of readiness, interests, and learning styles, I selected strategies that would cater to these differences and provide opportunities for all students to succeed (McCarthy, 2015).      To address student readiness, I incorporated scaffolded activities and provided additional support as needed. For example, during brainstorming sessions, I used visual aids and provided sentence starters to support English Language Learners (ELLs) and students with special needs.
